Your layout, your formulas, live consolidation data

Build financial statements cell by cell. Each cell holds a live binding to your consolidation data, an Excel-compatible formula, or a plain value. The report recalculates automatically every period — no manual refresh needed.

Predefined reports can only take you so far

Standard consolidated reports follow a fixed structure. Cell-Based Reporting removes that constraint — every row, column, and calculation is yours to define. You place bindings and formulas in individual cells, and the report becomes exactly the statement your board or management team needs.

  • Each cell independently holds a live binding, an Excel-compatible formula, or a plain value
  • Multiple sheets in one workbook — build a P&L on one sheet, a ratio analysis on another
  • Every cell recalculates automatically when the period closes — no copy-paste, no manual update
  • Conditional formatting lets you highlight variances and flag results that need attention

Every figure stays connected to the source

Instead of exporting a number and pasting it into a cell, you bind the cell directly. When the period closes, every bound cell updates in place — no downloads, no copy-paste errors.

  • Bind to account types, system account types, account tags, or financial statement totals
  • Pull in KPIs, NCI, CTA, eliminations, and journal totals directly into individual cells
  • Reference exchange rates for FX-aware calculations within the workbook
  • Bindings carry the same entity and period context as every other report in BrizoConsol

Excel-compatible formulas, calculated server-side

Formula cells are evaluated by PhpSpreadsheet — the same engine that powers Excel formulas — so the functions you already know work here. A built-in formula picker groups them by category so you can find the one you need without memorising its name.

  • Six formula groups: Maths, Statistics, Logic, Lookup, Text, and Date
  • Pick a formula, click or drag a cell range, and the reference is inserted automatically
  • Formula cells reference bound cells and other formula cells within the same workbook

SUM
=SUM(B4:B15)
Adds up a range.
IFERROR
=IFERROR(B4/C4,0)
A fallback when the formula fails.
IF
=IF(B4>0,"Up","Down")
One value when a test passes, another when it fails.
VLOOKUP
=VLOOKUP("BANK",A4:B15,2,FALSE)
Looks a value up in the first column of a range.
AVERAGE
=AVERAGE(B4:B15)
The mean of a range.
SUMIF
=SUMIF(A4:A15,"BANK",B4:B15)
Adds only the rows that match.

Embed charts from any cell range

Add a chart to any sheet and point it at a cell range in the same workbook. The chart updates along with the cells it reads from — no separate chart tool, no manual data copy.

  • Six chart types: column, bar, line, area, pie, and doughnut
  • Charts reference any cell range in the workbook — bound cells, formula cells, or plain values
  • Charts sit alongside tables on the same sheet, so a statement and its chart occupy a single page

Full formatting control — font, borders, colour

A formatting toolbar sits above the workbook, grouping controls the same way Excel does. Apply formatting to individual cells or ranges, and use conditional formatting to highlight values that need attention.

  • Four font families: Aptos, Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman — sizes 6 to 72 pt
  • Bold, italic, underline, text colour, and fill colour on any cell or range
  • Thirteen border styles including double bottom, thick bottom, and outside borders
  • Undo and redo for every formatting and data change
  • Conditional formatting to highlight cells based on their value

Publish where people need it

A finished cell report can go to a dashboard card, an Insight Package section, or an Excel file — and it can be scheduled to generate and deliver automatically each period.

Dashboard card

Pin the cell report as a card on a dashboard. It loads alongside other financial and operational cards, refreshing each time the dashboard is opened.

Insight Package section

Include the cell report as a section inside an Insight Package — alongside dashboards, charts, commentary, and imported documents — for a complete management pack.

Excel export

Download the cell report as an Excel workbook (.xlsx). The exported file preserves the layout, formatting, and calculated values so recipients can work with it directly.

Scheduled delivery

Set a schedule — daily, weekly, or monthly — and BrizoConsol generates the report and delivers it as an Excel file to the recipients you name. No manual export required.

Common questions

Does the report recalculate automatically, or do I have to trigger it?
Automatically. Every bound cell and formula recalculates when the period closes — no manual refresh, copy-paste, or export is needed.
Can a single workbook have more than one sheet?
Yes. A cell report workbook can contain multiple sheets, so you can build a P&L on one sheet, a ratio analysis on another, and so on — all in the same report.
What formula functions are supported?
Cell-Based Reporting supports an Excel-compatible formula library including IFERROR, IF, AND, OR, SUMIF, AVERAGEIF, VLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT, and more. Formulas work across the workbook the same way they do in Excel.
What can I bind a cell to?
Cells can be bound to account types, system account types, account tags, and financial statement totals. You can also pull in KPIs, NCI, CTA, eliminations, journal totals, and exchange rates.
Can I add charts to a cell report?
Yes. Bar, column, line, and area charts can be added directly within the cell report.
Can I highlight cells based on their value — for example, flag negative variances?
Yes. Conditional formatting lets you apply cell colours and styles based on the cell's value, so you can automatically highlight variances and flag results that need attention.
Can recipients receive the report as an Excel file on a schedule?
Yes. You can set a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule, and BrizoConsol will generate the report and deliver it as an Excel file (.xlsx) to the recipients you specify. No manual export is required.
