Two Problems. One Dashboard.

Month-end for a multi-entity group fails in two predictable ways. Month End Status in BrizoConsol addresses both.

The Visibility Problem

Close progress lives in someone's head, a shared spreadsheet, or a chain of emails. The group finance team spends the week chasing updates instead of reviewing numbers — and when the CFO asks where things stand, the answer is a best-guess from the last round of messages.

The Control Problem

Once the consolidation is signed off, a backdated journal, a data sync, or a correction in a source system can silently change the numbers — with no warning. The report you signed off on is no longer the report in the system.

Every Entity. Every Dimension. One View.

Stop managing close by chasing people. Monitor it on a dashboard — delays become visible immediately.

Entity readiness at a glance

For each entity in your group, Month End Status shows whether GL data has been loaded, whether invoices and bills are in, whether P&L tracking is active, and an overall Ready or Not Ready status — with no ambiguity.

The summary metrics at the top give you the group-level picture in seconds: how many entities are ready, which still have data loading pending, and whether your group-level adjustments are complete.

Entity GL Data Overall
DGDemo Group Consolidation entity N/A ● Ready
DSDemo Sales Co csv · SGD ● Loaded ● Ready
DMDemo MYOB CSV · USD ● Not loaded ● Not ready
DXDemo Xero CSV · USD ● Not loaded ● Not ready
Adjustments Status in the Same View

Below the entity grid, Month End Status shows whether each type of group-level adjustment is complete — so you know the close isn't ready until both entity data and group adjustments are green.

Period Locking — Numbers That Stay Where You Left Them

Once a period is closed and reviewed, lock it. No backdated entries, no silent changes from data syncs, no surprises on next month's variance report.

Block Backdated Entries

Once locked, no journal entries, data imports, or adjustments can be posted to that period — whether from a manual entry or an automated sync from Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books.

Unlock, Correct, Re-lock

If a genuine error needs fixing after lock, authorised users can unlock the period, post the correction, and re-lock — without losing the safeguard for everything else.

Full Audit Trail

Every lock, unlock, and post action is recorded — who did it, when, and on which period. The audit trail your finance governance requires is built in.

Recommended close workflow
1
Monitor Month End Status — confirm all entities show Ready and all group adjustments are Posted.
2
Lock each entity's period — using the Lock button on the Month End Status dashboard.
3
Run the group consolidation — the output is built on data that has been explicitly confirmed as final.

Common Questions

What does Month End Status show in BrizoConsol?
Month End Status shows two things in one view: entity-level readiness (whether each entity has loaded its GL data, invoices, and bills, and whether it is Ready or Not Ready for consolidation) and group-level adjustment status (whether Eliminations, GAAP Journals, Consolidation Journals, NCI, and CTA have been posted for the period). This means the group CFO or finance manager can see exactly where the close stands without sending a single email.
What is Period Locking in BrizoConsol?
Period Locking lets you freeze a completed accounting period. Once locked, no journal entries, data imports, or adjustments can be posted to that period — protecting the numbers you signed off on. Authorised users can unlock, correct, and re-lock if a genuine error needs fixing. All lock and unlock actions are recorded in the audit trail.
What is the difference between GAAP Journals and Consolidation Journals in Month End Status?
GAAP Journals are conversion adjustments that restate a subsidiary's accounts from its local standard to the group standard — for example, reversing capitalised development costs when converting from IFRS to US GAAP. Consolidation Journals are group-level entries that exist only in the consolidated accounts, such as acquisition accounting journals. BrizoConsol tracks them separately in Month End Status so each team can confirm their own work is complete.
When should I lock a period in BrizoConsol?
Lock each entity's period as soon as it has been reviewed and approved — before running the group consolidation. Use Month End Status to confirm all entities are Ready and all adjustments are Posted, then lock, then consolidate. The consolidation output will be built on data that has been explicitly confirmed as final.
Is Month End Status available on all BrizoConsol plans?
Month End Status and Period Locking are available on all BrizoConsol plans. A 30-day free trial includes full access with no credit card required.
